# Add and adjust images

Upload images, import public image URLs and customize their appearance.

## Add an image [#add-an-image]

Open **Add image** and choose **Upload from device** or **Import from URL**. For a URL, paste a direct public HTTP or HTTPS image link, wait for its preview, then select Import. A webpage address is not necessarily an image address.

URL imports copy the image into the presentation's asset storage; your presentation does not remain dependent on the original URL. Private networks, localhost, credential-protected links and unsupported URLs are rejected.

## Customize the image [#customize-the-image]

Select an image to move, resize, rotate, change opacity, round corners or adjust its fit. The properties panel also provides brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, grayscale, sepia and drop-shadow controls. You can replace the source image without recreating the whole composition.

These adjustments do not rewrite the original image file. For a shaped cutout, use [an image mask](/en/docs/design/boolean-masks).

## File limits [#file-limits]

Device import accepts up to **10 images at once**: PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and SVG. The limit is **100,000,000 bytes per image**, or **2,000,000 bytes per SVG**. SVG content is sanitized.

Portable exports have stricter limits than image upload, including a **25 MiB per-asset** limit. An image that imports successfully may still need to be reduced before exporting a package. See [file formats](/en/docs/files/export).

If URL import fails, check that the URL returns image bytes publicly, then try a smaller supported file.
