# Add a QR code

Create an editable QR element and customize its visual appearance.

## Create a QR code [#create-a-qr-code]

Choose **Add QR code**, enter a valid HTTPS URL and review the generated code. Keep the destination short enough to fit the supported QR capacity.

A QR element retains its content and styling, so you can update the destination later rather than importing a new QR image each time.

## Customize and test [#customize-and-test]

Select the code to change its color and roundness, move or resize it, and optionally add an image logo. Logo uploads are limited to 2 MB.

Preserve contrast between the code and its background. Scan it with a real phone at the size you intend to present or print. A visually attractive design is not proof that every scanner will read it.

## QR codes versus interactions [#qr-codes-versus-interactions]

A QR code lets someone open a destination with another device. An [Interaction](/en/docs/motion/interactions) lets a viewer click an element during playback. You can use both, but they solve different problems.

After exporting to PDF or HTML, test the exported code too. Resizing, low contrast or a large logo can make scanning harder.
