Create presentations with an AI agent

Choose remote or connected-editor workflows and give clear presentation instructions.

Give the assistant a useful brief

Describe your audience, objective, language, slide count, visual style and desired output. For example:

Create a five-slide introduction to renewable energy for high-school students. Use short English text, a consistent theme, one diagram and an interactive summary. Check the estimated usage before editing, then export an editable copy.

Ask the agent to inspect the available tools and current document before acting. Do not assume a feature exists just because another AI client supports it.

Remote versus connected editor

Remote tools work on synchronized presentations without an open editor: read, create, edit, upload/import images, export and manage permitted sharing actions.

Connected-editor tools work with a live editor session: inspect the view, select content, change tools or zoom, undo/redo and request browser downloads. Connected static PNG previews require a live session.

A connected download starts in your browser; it does not return file bytes to the assistant. Remote exports return a temporary private download link, not a public sharing link. Receiving a link does not prove the file has already rendered or downloaded.

Agent workflow

Discover capabilities and command schemas, read the current version, estimate a small coherent batch, apply it, inspect the result and repeat. Use stable request identifiers for retries and check request status after ambiguous outcomes instead of duplicating edits.

Prefer available templates/layouts and theme defaults over manually recreating every value. For Steps, preserve element identity when animating the same object. Configure interactions separately in each state that needs them.

Boundaries

MCP does not expose account billing changes, every editor dialog, arbitrary pointer gestures or browserless .tryslides import. Attachments in an AI chat are not automatically readable by MCP: the client must be able to access and upload their bytes.

Use the format reference to generate an importable file without MCP.
