Design and customize

Choose and customize a theme

Keep colors, typography, shapes and motion consistent across your presentation.

Apply a theme

Open Themes and select a catalog theme. Theme-linked properties update across Base and Steps; manually overridden properties stay fixed.

A theme is a design system, not a template or layout. It controls coordinated defaults rather than adding a ready-made presentation.

Customize your presentation

  1. Choose Customize Theme.
  2. Adjust the palette, role typography, solid shape defaults and motion defaults.
  3. Review the preview.
  4. Select Apply to presentation, or cancel to leave the presentation unchanged.

Applying is one undoable change. Each presentation has one active theme and at most one customized configuration. This does not create a reusable theme library or modify the catalog theme.

Linked versus fixed properties

The five color slots are primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary and accent. Choosing a palette swatch links a color to its slot. A custom HEX value is fixed, even if it happens to match that slot today.

Individual elements can still use their own typography, colors and gradients. New elements start with the active theme's defaults.

Reset and portability

Reset to Default restores the selected theme's defaults. Resetting or changing themes asks for confirmation before discarding customization. If another client changes the theme while your form is open, reopen the form rather than applying a stale draft.

Customization travels with the presentation, including editable .tryslides files. See templates and layouts.
